ARPA Honoured to be a Finalist in Georgie Awards 2022

Kamloops, B.C. The Georgie Awards®, hosted by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of British Columbia, wrapped up another year as winners were announced on June 4 in Vancouver. The Georgie Awards® was established in 1992 by a group of industry professionals who decided to start a housing awards program to provide value to the residential construction industry and communities throughout B.C. This year’s event marked the 30th anniversary with the awards gala held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver.

Competing in the Georgie Awards® requires months of preparation that garners much attention from the media, builders and other industry professionals. For this year’s Best Public-Private Partnership category, ARPA Investments (ARPA) was a finalist for The Colours on Spirit Square Stollery Suites, an innovative partnership between ARPA Investments, the City of Kamloops, the Stollery Foundation, and Ask Wellness Society.

“To be a finalist in the Georgie Awards is an honour,” noted Joshua Knaak, one of the partners of ARPA Investments. “Our project was up against some top tier development projects from across the province. We are proud of our team and our partners for this collaborative effort to build community in the Spirit Square neighbourhood on Kamloops’ North Shore.”

Over the past couple of years, the rise in demand for quality housing has further propelled the ARPA team’s drive to foster solid community partnerships. They are committed in their mission to develop and build innovative spaces that build stronger communities and bring neighbourhoods to life.

“On behalf of my partners Parm Mahal and Jas Mahal, we would like to acknowledge the many community partners and sub-trades for their outstanding work on this collaborative effort,” said Knaak. “We are humbled to be recognized as leaders within our industry.”

ABOUT THE COLOURS ON SPIRIT SQUARE & STOLLERY SUITES

The Colours on Spirit Square condominiums is a collection of a 38-unit building comprising a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, micro suite, and loft suites with rooftop patio floor plans over five floors. ARPA is particularly proud of this successful project development since this was the first time that ARPA had sold out before occupancy. Residents enjoy a spacious fitness room, access to individual bike lockers, and easy accessibility to countless surrounding parks, retailers, medical facilities and transit routes, all located at the core of the North Shore. Next door are the Stollery Suites, run by Ask Wellness Society, accommodating 43 dedicated rental suites primarily for seniors. As part of the development project, pedestrian-friendly public spaces were designed for meaningful social interactions that support a healthy environment for seniors and others in the North Shore community.
